It’s About Time

I made an audio piece about attempting to qualify for Olympic Trials in the marathon— but it's really about falling head over heels for a goal. It's weird, raw, and not unlike a romantic comedy. It’s also a playlist and should be listened to with the music included.

3R: A Multimedia Exhibition

In 2018 Sasha moved into Apartment 3R. She fell in love, she ran her first marathon, she saw the beginning of the pandemic. She moved out. In 2023, Emma moved into Apartment 3R. Shortly after, and not entirely relatedly, she and Sasha started dating. Which means that, many nights, Sasha sleeps, snuggles, snores, gets dressed for her morning runs in the same place she once did, 6 years ago. Except this time, the bed faces the other direction, and there’s another person waking up on the pillow next to her. We wanted to think through everything strange, uncomfortable, and slightly mystical about having lived in the same room, not just with each other, but with the ghosts of past inhabitants and all their stories. We turned that exploration into a gallery in the apartment itself, and a series of videos, letters, objects, and writing. This project was about what it means to live in the same place that so many other people have lived in, visited, and imagined. It's about 3R but also about New York. About us, but also about you, your room, and the guy who lives in your old room.
